With the gracious participation of Immediate Past District Governor of 306 A2, Lion Prasad Gamage, we donated essential items to the Probation and Childcare Centre, Kithulampitiya. Lion Sagarika donated 25000 worth of child care products as requested by them. Evening refreshments was served to all participants for the event, providing a pleasant and refreshing moment for them. |

The Environmental Awareness and Tree Planting Project was conducted by the Lions Club of Galle Karapitiya on 29th August 2025 at Minco High School, Elpitiya, with the objective of educating young children on the importance of protecting the environment. The programme specifically targeted kindergarten students, aiming to instill environmental responsibility from an early age. A total of 60 students and 6 teachers participated in the awareness session, which included simple and engaging activities to promote eco-friendly habits. In addition, a tree planting activity was carried out within the school premises to encourage practical involvement in environmental conservation. |

The Eye Screening and Spectacle Distribution Project was organized by Lion Upul Chandrasekara of the Lions Club of Galle Karapitiya on 1st March 2026 at the Meepawala Sanasa Complex, with the support of the Sanasa Welfare Association. During the program, an eye screening camp was conducted followed by the distribution of nearly 160 pairs of spectacles to beneficiaries. The project was carried out with the participation of Lion Vipul Jayarathna, Lion Sagarika, and Lion Methsiri De Silva and the assistance of a qualified optometrist. The total cost of the project was LKR 62,000, including LKR 12,000 for the optometrist and LKR 50,000 for the spectacles. A special discount for the spectacles was generously arranged through Lion Suranga of District 306 D2, contributing significantly to the success of the project. |

As part of the annual signature project “SINHA CHARIKA” organized by Lions Clubs International District 306 D8 & D1, a series of community service initiatives were conducted from Kataragama to Galle. In line with this district-wide effort, the Lions Club of Matara Excellence implemented a Hunger Relief Project at Matara Beach. The club provided meals worth LKR 31,000 to 20 underprivileged children in the area, bringing joy and support to those in need. A total of 10 Lions members actively participated in the project, including Club President Lion Ravindu and fellow members. This initiative reflects the club’s commitment to compassion, community service, and supporting national-level Lions activities. |
