The Environmental Awareness and Tree Planting Project was conducted by the Lions Club of Galle Karapitiya on 29th August 2025 at Minco High School, Elpitiya, with the objective of educating young children on the importance of protecting the environment. The programme specifically targeted kindergarten students, aiming to instill environmental responsibility from an early age. A total of 60 students and 6 teachers participated in the awareness session, which included simple and engaging activities to promote eco-friendly habits. In addition, a tree planting activity was carried out within the school premises to encourage practical involvement in environmental conservation.
