The Eye Screening and Spectacle Distribution Project was organized by Lion Upul Chandrasekara of the Lions Club of Galle Karapitiya on 1st March 2026 at the Meepawala Sanasa Complex, with the support of the Sanasa Welfare Association. During the program, an eye screening camp was conducted followed by the distribution of nearly 160 pairs of spectacles to beneficiaries. The project was carried out with the participation of Lion Vipul Jayarathna, Lion Sagarika, and Lion Methsiri De Silva and the assistance of a qualified optometrist. The total cost of the project was LKR 62,000, including LKR 12,000 for the optometrist and LKR 50,000 for the spectacles. A special discount for the spectacles was generously arranged through Lion Suranga of District 306 D2, contributing significantly to the success of the project.
