22 ladies from Maitipe District secretariat participated the event project was coordinated by Lion Chandrani Ponnamperuma, Assisted by Lion Cyril, Lion Palitha. the audience was address by the president and values of home gardening to bring a healthy meal to the table was emphasize. Lion Cyril educated the audience on right methods of planting and methods of echo friendly urban gardens. We participated in the district-level Lions family get-together titled “Lions Heart Together.” The event was organized to strengthen fellowship and unity among Lions members and their families across various regions. Our club contributed to the success of the event by donating liquor for the function. The day was filled with joy, laughter, and entertainment, providing an excellent opportunity to relax and enjoy quality time together. We also had the chance to meet and interact with Lions members from different regions, enhancing friendship and mutual understanding. Overall, it was a fun-filled and enjoyable day that strengthened the bond within the Lions family. |

Grantha Manorama was a joint project carried out in collaboration with the University of Colombo Leo Clubs, with the aim of promoting knowledge, literacy, and a love for reading within the community. The second phase of Grantha Manorama, titled “Miles of Smiles 7.0,” focused on strengthening access to educational resources. As part of this initiative, a large number of books were donated to the library of Keppetiyawa Purana Raja Maha Viharaya. This book donation was intended to enrich the temple library and provide valuable reading materials for children, students, and community members who use the library. Through this project, we aimed to support education, encourage reading habits, and create a positive and lasting impact on the community. Grantha Manorama – Miles of Smiles 7.0 stands as a meaningful example of collaboration, service, and commitment to spreading knowledge and smiles through education. |

Celebrating International children's day with Finland foster care was celebrated on 12th October at SESSIP Institute in Hirimbura. 43 children were participated for the day. Children were so happy and they participated in singing dancing and delivering speeches. all kids were treated with an ice cream and pack of lunch. kids had lots of games and they were given gifts (a toy, a book, pencils, erases and a pencil case). Galupura Central started a six-month course for young women to empower them in learning the correct and the standard way of doing cakes, pastry and puddings to match the hotel industry. The lessons are delivered twice a week 8 lessons for the month. They cover 36 hours for a month. In October they made banana cake, moose, fruit gateau and bakery items For the four lessons delivered the following cost is covered 1. Ingredients for food - Rs 120,000 2.
