Conducted Skill Development Program

A program to educate the youth on how to develop their skills through learning the Japanese language was held on 14th November 2025 at the Imaduwa, Igenra Educational Institute, Galle. 112 youth participated in this program organized by the Galle Diamond Lions club, and a scholarship program is also scheduled to be held for them in the future. end of the program host a refreshment (112 Participants X 80 Milk Pkts = 8960.00) Lion Jinesh Nanayakkara acted as the project chairman of this program, and a graduate lecturer in Japanese language from the University of Kelaniya conducted the program.

Conducting Skills Development Programm

A skills development program targeting the youth community was conducted on 12th November 2025 at Benthara Success Educational Institute. A leadership training consultant and an experienced program coordinator participated as guest speakers in this program and organized by the Galle Diamond Lions Club. 72 youth participated in this program and end of this program host the refreshment for participants. (72 Participants X 80 Milk Pkts = 5760.00)

Educating the Public about environmental Values

A public awareness program on educating the public about environmental values was conducted by the Galle Diamond Lions Club on 02nd November 2025 between 1500 – 1700 hrs at the Sri Seelawansaramaya Temple, Akmeemana, Galle. 24 women from the area who were interested in this subject participated in this program, and the program was conducted by consultants from the National Institute of Plantation Industries and other program-related lecturers. President of Galle Diamond Lions club, Lion Sanath Geetha Shantha acted as project chairperson. At the end of the program, a tea party was also held for all those who attended

Program on Gardning, Landscaping and Animal Conservation

A public awareness campaign on gardening, Landscaping and animal conservation was organized by the Galle Diamond Lions club on 01st November 2025 at the Asiri Uyana Janapadaya, Akmeemana, Galle. 25 women from the area participated in this program and the program was conducted by senior consultants of the National Institute of Plantation Industries. President and lions of Galle Diamond were attended. At the end of the program, a tea party was held for all those who attended. Lion Jinesh Nanayakkara was the Project Chairperson of this project.

Organize Awareness programs for women

A program under the vision of the Governor of 306 D8, under the theme of conducting awareness programs for women, was conducted by the Galle Diamond Lions Club on 31st October 2025 at Public Hall, Pathiragoda. 21 women at the area attended for this program. This program was conducted with the participation of Lions including the President of the Galle Diamond Lions Club, and a tea party was also held for all the women who attended the program at the end.

Organizing & implementing self employment opportunities, Leadership Training

A leadership course on creating self-employment opportunities as per the vision of the Governor of 306 D8 was conducted by the Galle Diamond Lions Society on 30th October 2025 at the ALPEX Institute at Debarawewa. 27 young women participated in this leadership program on self-employment generation and the program was conducted by the veteran Lecture and Program Coordinator Lion Ravindra Jagoda.

As per the vision of the Governor of 306 D8 Lion District, a skill development program for women was conducted by the Galle Diamond Lions Club on 27th October 2025 at the Galle Gangaramaya Temple. 27 women were attended for this program. The program was conducted by veteran speaker and program coordinator Ravindra Jagoda. Convention Secretary of 306 D8 Lion District, Lion Prasad Kohomben, MJF, MAF , Regional Chairperson of Regional No. 3 Lion Kapila Kohombenge, MAF,JP and the President of Galle Diamond Lions Club and lions were participated. President of Galle Diamond Lions Club, Lion Sanath Geetha Shantha acted as the Project Chairperson of this program.

As per the vision of the Governor of 306 D8 Lion District, a ceremony was organized to present a set of tools for handicrafts and bag manufacturing to women who completed the 'Liyata Saviya' training course and a prize distribution ceremony to encourage them. 32 women were attended for this ceremony. The Galle Diamond Lions Club organized this ceremony on 27th October 2025 at 1030 hrs at the Galle Gangaramaya Temple, and the 306 D8 Lions district Convention Secretary Lion Prasad Kohombeng, MJF, MAF and the Regional chairperson of Regional No. 3 Lion Kapila Kohombeng, MAF, JP participated in this program as guests. A tea party was also held at the end of the program. Lions including the President of Galle Diamond Lions Club participated in this program, and President Lion Sanath Geetha Shantha,MAF acted as the Project Chairman.

Organizing Workshops/Seminars/Training for Women

As per the vision of the Governor of 306 D8, a program was conducted with the aim of empowering women and economically empowering women to become key contributors to the economy of the country. Accordingly, the Lions club of Galle Diamond held a certificate awarding ceremony for women who had completed a home economics development training course under the 'Liyata Saviya Program' at the Galle Gangaramaya Temple on 27th October 2025. Under the patronage of the Nayaka Thero of the temple, certificates were presented to 32 women and Cabinet Officer Lion Jilith Nishantha, MJF participated as the chief guest. Lions including the President of the Galle Diamond Lions club participated in this. Lion Sanath Geetha Shantha, President of the Galle Diamond Lions club, acted as the Project Chairman of this program.

Implemantation of Global Service Project - ENVIRONMENTAL

A tree planting under the global Environment project was conducted by the Galle Diamond Lions Club at the Galle, Holuwagoda River Park on 18th October 2025. Under the patronage of Governor, The program, which lasted from 3.00 pm to 4.30 pm, was attended by Governor Lion Jagath Weerasinghe MJF,MAF,JP, 2nd Vice Governor Lion Ranjith Abeysundara, MAF,AAL,LLB,ALLI, GET Coordinator Lion Thushantha Nanayakkara, Community Development and Environment Coordinator Lion Dr. Chathura Welivitiya, Chairperson of the Bope Poddala Pradeshiya Sabha Mrs. Lalani Jayamini, the Manager of River Park as well as government officials of the area. The program was concluded with a tea party.

Tree Planting Campaigns at Public Places

A tree planting campaign was held on 18th October 2025 at 0900 hrs at Riva Park, Holuwagoda, Galle under the Clean Sri Lanka Program as per the vision of Governor of 306 D8 Lions district. This program was organized by the Galle Diamond Lions club with the participation of children and parents in the area with the aim of creating a child mind that loves the environment. A project report prepared on environmental conservation and garden beautification was also presented to the park manager. Steps were taken to plant 52 Flower saplings. The Chairman of the Bope Poddala Pradeshiya Sabha, Government officials and the president & members of the Galle Diamond were participated in this program. Lion Yashoda Hirimuthugoda, of the Diamond Lions Club, served as the Chairman of this project.

In conjunction with World Sight Day in October 2025, the Lions Club of Galle Diamond organized a function for the welfare of visually impaired brothers and sisters. A dinner and essential supplies distribution ceremony was held on 16th October 2025 for the people of the Jayawardena Memorial Vocational Training Home for the Visually Impaired, managed by the Galle Youth Buddhist Society in Kapuhempala, Galle.
