Activity Title: Humanitarian Support for a Senior Citizen - Bedding & Furniture Donation

The Lions Club of Embilipitiya Black Lions successfully extended a helping hand to an 80-year-old elderly mother living alone in Embilipitiya. Responding to her humble request to ease her physical discomforts and improve her living conditions during her twilight years, the club donated a high-quality mattress and six chairs to ensure her comfort and well-being. This compassionate project was fully sponsored by the President of the Lions Club of Embilipitiya Black Lions, Lion Hiranga Thalpavila, with a personal donation of LKR 20,800 for the items and LKR 3,000 for transportation costs. Two dedicated Lions members spent three hours each to coordinate the purchase and deliver the items directly to her home. This initiative stands as a testament to our club’s commitment to serving the vulnerable and ensuring dignity for senior citizens in our community. Project Name - Let's Color the Dreams of Children. Theme - As a school selected for World Children's Day, Bibila Wegama Kanishtha Vidyalaya provided 350 children with food books and gifts, 3 computers for the school, about 500 books for the library, a watch, 43 gifts for teachers, a valuable microscope, scholarships for 5 students who passed the Grade 5 Scholarship Examination this year, and a savings deposit of Rs. 1000 for each child to develop the habit of saving, and a valuable coin for saving money, sponsored by DFCC Bank. The financial value of all donations is close to Rs. 750000/-. 05 valuable orange trees were also planted in the school grounds. 306 D8 A project of Sinha District Women's Committee. Child Abuse Awareness Program

An awareness program on child abuse was held at Maha Modara Kannangara Vidyalaya. Approximately 160 students and staff 15teachers and a few parentsparticipated in the program. SI Niroshani Mahatmiya of the Police Women and Children's Unit was the special speaker. only two club members participate for this. School parents, organizing cold drinks and biscuit for this event.

Child Abuse Awareness Program

Around 360 students and 14 teaching staff members of Gintota Dharmapala Vidyalaya participated in the child abuse awareness program, along with around 50parents. Parents of children from the orphanage sponsored a cup of porridge and biscuitfor the program participants. About five members of our Lions Club participated.

Nature songs and loving attitude on the occasion of World Children's Day

About 1750 other students of the college participated in this program, along with the entire teaching staff and a small number of parents. A group of our friends supported the distribution of ice cream to the children. Seven members of our Sinhala society participated in this.

The leadership training program on this day was conducted by Dr. Methsiri de Silva and the natural songs program was presented by Lion Anosha Niranjala and others. About 365 students of Grade 07 to 09 of the college participated in it and about 20 teachers also participated.
