International Teachers' day

We celebrated the International Teachers Day at the Siyak Sipsal school at Pellessa Siri Wimalasiri Primary school. In the primary they had 10 teachers nd at the nursery school there were two teachers. We gave them a gft pack (n umberlla, books and a 500g tea packs) worth of Rs 19400 and lunch for all 12 worth of Rs 7200. There were treated with ice cream too. We got the school kids to handover tyhe gift and respect the teachers. Spoke to all parents to know the importance of teachers and the commitment they do to bring up their kids with good values. We offered evening tea for 100 in house elders at Vanrith home. This is a signature project of the club. As Lions of Galupura Central we always do our best to the community who needs help. We have more focus on our Elders as well as children in the community. We served tea for 100 people by serving them sandwiches, cutlets, cake, bananas and milk tea. We handed over dry rations such as Milk powder, rice, dhal, sugar sufficient fora week. Further to this we gave washing powder, toilet detergents also for their use. To commemorate the Elders day we offered evening tea and dry rations needed for the Vanrith Elders home at Kaluwella. It is a signature project of the club. 9 lions were participated. Mentorship Program for Young Peaple

Conducting mentoring programs, the 2nd Vice Governor of the 306 D8 Lion District Lion Ranjith Abeysundara, MAF, AAL, LLB, ALLI conducted a youth mentoring program in Matara on 20th September 2025. 490 youth participated in this program and it was conducted in a high-class manner as another social service of the Galle Diamond Lions Club.

Conducting Skills Development Program for Youth

In accordance with the vision of the District Governor, A program to promote the Japanese language among young people and thereby develop their skills was held at the Matara Institute of Higher Education on 20.09.2025. The 2nd Vice Governor of 306 D8 Lion District, Attorney-at-Law Lion Ranjith Abeysundara, MAF, AAL, LLB, ALLI who came as the guest of honor at this awareness program. 490 youth participated in this program. The program was organized in a high-quality manner by Lion Jinesh Nanayakkara,MAF, MJF, Vice President of the Galle Diamond Lions Club, as the Project Chairman. A tea party was held for all the Lions including the Chief Guest and a lunch was hosted by the 2nd Vice Governor for all the Lions and staff at the Matara Inn. (A sum of Rs. 16390.00 was raised for this program)

As per the vision of the Lion Commander of the 306 D8 Lion District, a Musical and trade festival called “Lion Fiesta” was held at the Samanala Ground, Galle on 29th , 30th and 31st August 2025 to raise fund for district projects.
