Grade 5 Scholarship Exam Guidance Program Place: Manawaila Upananda Maha Vidyalaya This program was conducted as a joint project (District 8 and District 2), organized by the Galle Royalty Lions Club. The Akmeemana Lions Club also extended its support by donating LKR 10,000 towards the project. A total of 4 members, including the Club Secretary and President, represented our club at the event. Nearly 200 students participated in the program, gaining valuable knowledge on how to face the Grade 5 Scholarship Examination, including guidance on exam techniques and effective paper-writing skills. The initiative proved to be both educational and impactful for the young participants. |

Medicinal Plant Donation Program Place: Harumalgoda Kanishta Vidyalaya, Habaraduwa The Akmeemana Lions Club conducted a meaningful program at Harumalgoda Kanishta Vidyalaya by donating 40 medicinal plants with name boards, at a cost of around LKR 5,200. A total of 6 members, including the President and Secretary, actively participated in the event. In addition to the donation, a special speech was delivered on the importance of medicinal plants and their uses in preventing and curing diseases, providing valuable knowledge to the students. The program was supported by the Principal, academic and non-academic staff, and students, making it a successful and educational initiative. It was a great opportunity for students to learn about the value of medicinal plants and their role in healthcare. The project was led by Project Chairperson Mr. Siril Guruge, ensuring the smooth coordination of all activities. |

District Project at Janadhipathi Balika Vidyalaya, Walahanduwa The district project was held at Janadhipathi Balika Vidyalaya, Walahanduwa, organized under the guidance of Regional Chairperson Lion Raveendra Prasadh Kuruwita. A special highlight of the event was the gracious arrival of District Governor Lion Jagath Weerasinghe and First Vice District Governor Lion Ravee Kalansooriya, whose presence added great prestige to the program. On this occasion, the Akmeemana Lions Club contributed by donating 40 medicinal plants (valued at Rs. 3,800) with name boards to the school. A total of 5 members from Akmeemana Lions Club participated, along with other regional club members, bringing together nearly 50 participants overall. The Principal, school staff, and students also actively joined, making the program a memorable and successful community initiative. |
