On 4th October 2025, the Lions Club of Galle Fort proudly conducted the “Green Giving – Fruit Tree Donation Drive” as part of its ongoing commitment to community development and environmental sustainability. During the Sinha Charika Motor Rally, which travelled Katharagama to Galle, the Club donated 50 high-value fruit trees to underprivileged families residing along the rally route.
This initiative was designed not only to provide immediate nutritional support but also to empower families with long-term resources that will continue to benefit them for years to come. By providing fruit-bearing trees, the project addressed food security, encouraged sustainable practices, and promoted environmental awareness among the community.
