The Lions Club of Galle Fort successfully organized the “Pink Shield 2025” Breast Cancer Awareness and Screening Project in collaboration with the medical team of National Hospital Karapitiya. The program was specially conducted for the women officers of the Government Officers with the objective of promoting early detection and raising awareness about breast cancer.
This impactful initiative focused on educating participants about the importance of early diagnosis, self-examination techniques, and preventive healthcare practices. Expert medical professionals conducted informative sessions, highlighting risk factors, symptoms, and available treatment options. In addition to the awareness sessions, a comprehensive screening program was carried out, providing participants with the opportunity to undergo clinical examinations by qualified healthcare personnel. This ensured timely identification of potential health concerns and encouraged participants to take proactive steps .
