Description

Under the Clean Up Sri Lanka District Program, a large-scale beach cleanup was conducted on 20th September 2025 along the Matara beach stretch from the Fort to Brown’s Hill with participation from Lions and Leo Clubs of Regions 05 and 04. Equipment including gloves, garbage bags, and vests was provided by Shraddha TV. Over 80 kg of plastic and polythene waste was collected, contributing to environmental protection and public awareness. The activity was held from 7:30 AM to 10:30 AM. Lions Club of Matara Excellence participated with 10 members: Lion Dilini Thompson, Lion Chathuranga Lokumarambage, Lion Sanjaya Kumara, Lion Ashika Patabandige, Lion Ravindu Runage, Lion Dhanushka Namal, Lion Aasitha Priyadarshana, Lion Hasitha Kethmal, Lion Dilshan Thilakshana, and Mr. Milan (non-Lion), alongside multiple Lions and Leo Clubs.
