The Lions Club of Embilipitiya Black Lions completed Phase II of the passenger shelter project in Embilipitiya New Town. Strategically located on Middeniya Road near the Bank of Ceylon, this shelter was built for the convenience of commuters visiting numerous government institutions in the vicinity.
A standout feature of this project was the professional engineering and technical work, which was voluntarily executed by the Project Chairman, Lion Shamil Chamika. His expertise ensured a high-quality, durable structure. The team, including 18 Lions, worked dedicatedly to complete this facility, which provides essential protection from sun and rain for daily commuters and the public. The total investment of LKR 465,000 was fully funded through personal contributions from Lion members and well-wishers. This project stands as a vital community asset, significantly improving the urban infrastructure for those accessing regional services. (Reported in Lion Portal).
