Thanamalwila, Kiula-Ara, and Samadhigama areas
Following a tragic fatal elephant attack in the Kiula-Ara village, we launched an emergency intervention to restore safety for the residents. Since state authorities cited a lack of funds, our club took the lead in illuminating forest-bordering paths where the risk of human-elephant conflict is highest. Over 12 days, we successfully installed 100 high-quality 15W LED bulbs and repaired faulty wiring across 100 electricity poles in Thanamalwila, Kiula-Ara, and Samadhigama areas. This life-saving project now provides much-needed visibility during the night for over 350 families, ensuring the safety of schoolchildren and villagers. This initiative reflects our commitment to addressing urgent community safety needs through direct action. (This project has been reported in the Lion Portal. Please refer to it for more details.)
