Celebrating World Cleanup Day, we launched a mega initiative to transform the Chandrika Tank area into a Polythene and Plastic Free Zone. This massive project was a collaborative effort involving over 370 volunteers from the Municipal Council, MOH Office, Police, Mahaweli Authority, and private institutions. We successfully cleared massive amounts of waste and installed 04 permanent large-scale awareness boards (funded by Lion Nuwan Manuranga) to ensure the long-term sustainability of this environment. Providing safety gear and meals for all volunteers, we ensured a safe and professional operation. This mission not only cleaned a vital water source but also raised massive public awareness on environmental conservation within the Embilipitiya community.
