Environmental Awareness Program for School Children at Thanamalwila
An environmental awareness program for school children was successfully conducted in conjunction with the Mega Service Project held at the Thanamalwila Sinhagiri Temple, jointly organized by the Akuressa Lions Club and the Horana Metro Lions Club.
The program aimed at promoting environmental protection among the younger generation and encouraging them to adopt sustainable habits. During the session, children received valuable guidance on the importance of safeguarding the environment, reducing pollution, protecting natural resources, and contributing towards a greener future.
As a practical step towards environmental conservation, saplings were distributed to the students, encouraging them to plant and maintain trees in their home gardens. This initiative provided an opportunity for children to actively participate in protecting nature and to become responsible environmental caretakers within their communities.
